So cruel it is of Life to bind Love with chains,
A fettered charger in iron bonds.
Passion is blinded by Duty,
Joy stripped bare by frigid Responsibility.
The human soul lain empty by Denial.
The prancing dance of sweet Chance,
Torn asunder by the hounds of Reason,
Her sightless, untainted eyes follow mercilessly.
Guilt rends the heart,
Doubt's tarnished seed commands the soul.
No rule may possess thee,
No law shall direct thee.
For there is neither Rhyme nor Reason,
Destiny and Fate twirl dizzy,
And Love shall fly free unjessed!

I'm not bitter. I'm just unsweetened.
